About Us
River City Christian Fellowship
To learn about God, we read and study the Scriptures, which are the sixty-six books contained in a standard Christian Bible. The first thirty-nine books are often referred to as the Old Testament, it is also called the TANAKH. They were written mostly in the Hebrew language, with a few sections of them written in Aramaic. The apostolic writings are the last twenty-seven books of the bible. They are frequently called the “New Testament.” The oldest available manuscripts are written in Greek. We believe that God inspired the authors of the Scriptures to write them down. We believe that the whole Bible is true, and that it is applicable to our lives today.
You might hear us use different terms from time to time in our gatherings or in our teachings. Some of the Hebrew terms that we use are Torah, Yahweh, Shalom and Yeshua. Torah means law or instructions; Shalom, means peace; Yahweh, is the Hebrew name of God; and Yeshua, is the Hebrew name of Jesus.
Many people want to know if we teach a pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation or a post tribulation rapture doctrine. The answer is that we teach none of those points of view. We understand the word rapture is not a biblical term, but we believe it is a biblical event. The catching away of the saints will happen at some point in our future. We believe that this event will occur in the Sixth Year of what many people call the 7-year tribulation period. See our teachings to learn more.
